Dr. Sung received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical rotations at Cornell University and Colorado State University. She then attended the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain where she obtained her internship certificate. Dr. Sung is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. She opened Shatto Veterinary Center in 2016 in the heart of Koreatown, Los Angeles and has been treating dogs and cats here ever since. Dr. Sung believes that the most important aspect of providing quality medical care for our furry friends is to forge a relationship built on trust and communication between the owners, animals, and doctors. She is passionate about advocating for animal rights and believes that nothing is more important than protecting the lives of animals who cannot speak for themselves.
Richard Yi, DVM, CVA was born and raised in beautiful Los Angeles, California. He received his BS in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He attended and obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (clinical year at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine). Upon completion of his veterinary education, he went on to further expand his knowledge and experience by pursuing a small animal medicine and surgical internship. After years of practice, Dr. Yi pursued his interest in Eastern medicine by attending Chi Institute of Chinese Veterinary Medicine (in Florida) and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. Dr. Yi practices integrative medicine to apply a holistic approach to veterinary care. Dr. Yi’s primary goal is to provide the most current and excellent veterinary care that is founded upon the values of respect and trust, and communication that is driven by honesty and transparency. Dr. Yi loves both dogs and cats but does have a special spot in his heart for Golden Retrievers and Siberian Huskies. When not at work, he likes to partake in hiking, camping, fishing, rock climbing, bouldering, watching movies, listening to music, and cooking.
Dr. Kevin Chung grew up in Southern California. He received his Bachelor’s degree from UCLA. Dr. Chung won a Recruitment Scholarship Award and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Western University in 2010. Dr. Chung is very excited to be at Shatto Veterinary Center, serving Los Angeles community. Dr. Chung is bilingual, speaking both English and Korean. He believes in a deep investment in the veterinarian-client-patient relationship in order to provide the best care for his patients. He has strong interests in surgery, internal medicine, dentistry, and dermatology. Dr. Chung enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping and traveling.
Leila joined the Shatto team as a veterinary receptionist in August of 2017. After graduating from UCLA in 2019, she accepted a position as the front-office manager and has been here full-time ever since. When she isn’t thinking about the hospital, Leila is almost always thinking about food, dogs, or shopping, so it’s no surprise that her idea of a perfect day includes brunch and retail therapy with her two poodles.
Camille is a Registered Veterinary Technician who joined the SVC family in 2018 after graduating from Platt College with her RVT license in 2017. Outside of the hospital, she is a foodie, a cat-mom of 3, and a lover of all things beauty and fashion.
Eileen joined the SVC team in January of 2017 after graduating from UCLA with a degree in Biology. She enjoys playing with the hospital cat, Holey. She enjoys eating, reading, singing, and dancing.
Jose has been with Shatto Veterinary Center as a veterinary technician since it opened its doors back in 2016. He is a master dog and cat whisperer and is able to get any anxious animal to calm down. On his days off, Jose loves to spend quality time with his family, grandchildren, and his orange cat, Willy Jr.
Isabella was born and raised in Los Angeles and has loved animals her whole life. She took her aspirations to become a veterinarian all the way to San Diego and graduated from UCSD in 2019 with a degree in Biology. After moving back home, she began her position as a veterinary assistant at Shatto Veterinary Center in October of 2019.
Sunny grew up in Los Angeles. Wanting to serve in a field that helps animals, she worked as a veterinary receptionist for 6 months before transitioning to the Shatto team in October of 2019. In her free time, Sunny enjoys spending time with her loved ones, especially her cat, Chili.
Kevin joined Shatto Veterinary Center as a receptionist in March of 2019. In his free time, he enjoys going on hikes with his American Eskimo Dog named Mochi. You might see him carrying his fur baby down the trails of Griffith Park when the fluff ball no longer wants to walk.
Marissa joined the Shatto Veterinary team in September 2019. She is from the Seattle area and moved to Los Angeles about five years ago. Marissa is passionate about helping animals and people. She loves to spend her free time hanging out with her cat, Milo and doing anything outdoors.
